The Long Ride reduces the familiar figure of horse and rider to a spare, almost elemental silhouette.

A deep black form sits against a warm burnt-orange ground, with rough edges, visible surface marks and elongated brushwork giving the image its character. The rider’s broad-brimmed hat provides the clearest Western reference, while the stripped-back composition keeps the work firmly contemporary.
